Bardia National park lies in the western plains of Nepal and is the home to the last remaining wild
elephants and Bengal Tigers of South Asia.You will be able observe over 250 species of birds and 30 species of mammals in their natural habitat. An elephant-back safari is the best way to watch the animals and birds at close quarters among the deep forest and marshes.

Bardia National Park was declared a national reserve in 1976 and covers an area of 374 sq. miles. The
Babai River runs along to the south of the park while the Shivalik Hills adorn its northern extremes. The
park comprises of grasslands and forests. Bardia has a large number of deer species like the Chital, the
Hog Deer, Barasingha, Sambar and the Swamp deer among others. Other animals include the Antelope,
the Blue Bull, and Himalayan Tahr, Langur Monkey, Rhesus Macaque and the sloth bear. A good
population of the wild boar also inhabits the park. Nearby in the Karnali, Girwa, and Babai Rivers, you
can see the Gharial and the freshwater Dolphin. The park provides safe haven for many rare animals like
the wild elephant and the rhinoceros. You can also see birds like the Bengal florican (extremely
endangered), the silver-eared mesia and the Sarus(Crane).

Itinerary

Day 1Kathmandu- Bardia

Arrival in morning and relax for moment in Tharu bar or beautiful garden near hotel and after having
lunch discover Tharu life and culture through Tharu villager and culture tour.

Visit to the Visitor’s Center, Elephants Breeding Center and Tharu Cultural Museum.
20:00: Dinner and overnight at hotels.

Day 2Bardia National Park Jungle Walk

Whole day Jungle Walk. An excellent opportunity to see the wild animals, small mammals, birds. Wait on
the tower (Machan) to observe wild animals, accompanied by our experienced naturalists and wildlife
trackers. Excellent photographic opportunities.
20:00: Dinner and overnight at hotels.
Bardia is one of the largest and least explored National Parks in Nepal. It is located in the remote Far Western Terai in Nepal. This National Park is the largest habitat of Royal Bengal Tigers in Nepal and is only one National Park with fresh water Dolphins. You stand a better chance of seeing a tiger here than anywhere else in Nepal. It’s a stunning place that seems a very long way from the 21st century, watching the sunrise over the forest from the back of an elephant. It is believed that the largest male elephant in Asia is in this park. This place is supposed to be safe haven for royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, jungle cats, mongooses, sloth bears, blue cow antelopes, langurs, spotted hog, samber deer, masher fish, gharial and mugger crocodiles, Gang etic dolphin etc. Same way, more than 30 different type of mammals and 250 species of birds are believed to be here.

Day 3Bardia Tour

06:00: Wake-up call and Breakfast
07:30: Tiger-tracking and Bird-watching. An excellent opportunity to see a Royal Bengal tiger and a great many species of birds found in Bardia.
13:00: Lunch
14:30: Jeep Drive. An excellent opportunity to see wild animals where you may encounter many other smaller mammals residing in the park.
Elephant ride (for an hour), an excellent opportunity to get a lifetime experience on the elephant back and to see the wildlife of the Park.
20:00: Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 4More exploration via Raft

06:00: Wake-up call
06:30: Breakfast
07:00: Drive to rafting point
09:00: Rafting Start: It is wild Sightseeing Rafting, this program has been introduce to show you the wildlife from the different part of the park, will be stopped in more than 3/4 places and will be taken inside the jungle for the wildlife. An excellent opportunity for bird watching. Pack lunch will be providing.

Day 5Leaving Bardia

06:00: Wake-up call
06:30: Breakfast
Early morning Bird watching- followed by chance to relax or explore the surrounding the village.
Visit to crocodile breeding center.
We leave Bardia National Park for Kathmandu in the evening after an amazing few days exploring the enchanting tropical jungles of Bardia.
