This ultimate Barah Puran Hindu Pilgrimage Tour can be optimized and customized according to your needsJ.

We start our exciting journey by leaving Kathmandu city early in the morning by visiting a local Ganesh temple and heading for some highway fun and spiritual beginning as we follow the Trishuli River down south and head towards Manakamana Temple in Gorkha district. We move towards Damauli, a bustling town on the confluence of two rivers, Sati and Mahendri, following the Marshyangdi River, North West from Kathmandu. Here, we can find a cave known to be the birthplace of Sage Vyasadeva. We move towards Pokhara this day.

We move towards the mystique, holy and also the last forbidden Kingdom in the lap of the Himalayas in Mustang where we have very important sites such as Daamodar Kunda(4890 meters above sea level), Muktinath Mandir(3800 m asl),Chussang valley(2920 m asl), Jomsom(2743 m asl).

After our adventures in the awe-inspiring Himalayas, we move towards the hills again as we head towards Ruru Kshetra, Ridii at the confluence of the Ridii Khola and the Kali Gandaki that we have been following south from Mustang itself. The Ruru Kshetra lies in Gulmi district.

After Gulmi we head southward towards the great Tarai. We take our Journey to Nawalparasi where we visit the Maula Kalika temple. After that, we head towards one of the most sacred considered places in Devghat on the confluence of the Kaligandaki and the Trishuli rivers. After Devghat, we head to Janakpur to put finishing touches on our great journey across this beautiful holy land.

Itinerary

DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day1: Kathmandu to Pokhara via Damauli(5-7 hours by road)

We leave Kathmandu early morning and follow the Trishuli River down south until we reach Mugling from where we follow a different river in Marshyangdi westwards towards Damauli, Tanahun district.

The most important location here is the birthplace of Sage Vyasadeva. This vyasadev belongs to a different Kalpa and is not the current Vyasa known as Krishna Dvaipayana Vyasa. There is a beautiful cave where Sage Vyasa completed all Puranas and nearby on the confluence of two rivers is the palce of ashram of Parasara muni where he along with Satyavati gave birth to Vyasa, The cave of Vyasa also has next to it a small temple with 28 deities of all different Vyasadevas with their names who have appeared so far. It is said that while Vyasa was born here, he later moved to Badrikashram for his penance.

After visiting the holy dham, we head towards Pokhara, the city of Lakes to rest for the night.

Day2: Pokhara- Jomsom- Daamodar Kunda- Muktinath:(~25 mins flight to Jomsom,~1 hour heli ride)

We take an early morning heli ride from Pokhara airport to Daamodar kunda, believed to be the Jewel on the head of Lord Bishnu according to Barah puran. There are three small lakes in the area: Kamandalu Kunda, Dudh Kunda and Rakta Kunda, collectively being called Daamodar Kunda. We can see 360 degree views of the Himalayas and also parts of the Tibetan plateau from the holy site. After spending some time among the lakes, hop back into our helicopter and head towards Muktinath, considered the mouth of the holy god. We either spend our night in Muktinath or come down some altitude and stay in Jomsom.

Day3: Muktinath-Chussang Valley- Jomsom:(~3/4 hours jeep ride)

Early next morning, we head towards the Chussang valley after breakfast. This place is really famous for pilgrims in search of the mystique and holy “Shaligram” on the bank of the beautiful Kaligandaki. We head towards Jomsom during the later parts of the day and rest for the night in a hotel there.

Day4: Jomsom- Pokhara(~25 mins flight):

We exit the Himalayan region this day as we take a flight to Pokhara to countinue our Barah Puran journey in Palpa, Ruru Kshetra. We leave early morning ,dine and rest in Pokhara for we have a lot of adventures in this holy land still remaining. Wetake a stroll around the  Pokhara area and if possible, visit the many temples in Pokhara like the Bindyabasini Temple, Akaladevi Temple, Taal Barahi Temple, ISCON Pokhara during the rest of the  day. We stay in a hotel in Pokhara for the night.

Day5: Pokhara- Gulmi(Ridii chhetra)(~6 hours by road):

He head southwards from Pokhara early morning towards Ridi Kshetra, Gulmi district this day. It lies in the confluence of the holy Kali Gandaki and the holy Ridii Khola and the Kali Gandaki. The Rishikesh Complex of Ruru Kshetra including the settlement of Ruru Kshetra embraces an intact medieval ensemble within an undisturbed landscape. The living heritage is well preserved and most ancient practices and rituals have carried on over the ages and are still carried out.

Day6:Palpa- Nawalparasi(Maula Kaalika Mandir, CG Temple)- Bharatpur(Devghat)(~6/7 hours by road):

After our religious activities in the Ruru Kshetra, we head towards the south east in Nawalparasi. Here, we visit the holy Maula Kaalika Temple. It is believed that the Sen Kings of Palpa dedicated this temple to the Goddess Durga/ Kaalika during the 16th century. After that, we continue our journey eastwards towards Bharatpur, Chitwan where we visit the famed Devghat.

According to Bishnupuran, King Bharat ruled the entire world from Bharatpur and hence the name.Bharat ruled for 60,000 years and later moved to Pulahasram and then subsequently his next two lives as deer and then Jada, respectively were also spent in Nepal.

Also located within the municipality of Bharatpur is the popular holy place of Devghat on the confluence of the three holy rivers Kaligandaki, Seti Gandaki and the Trishuli.

Day7:Devghat- Janakpur:(~6 hours by road, ~240 kms)

We head eastwards towards Janakpur, the ancient Mithila Kingdom of Janak Raja early morning following the Mahendra Highway after our night in Bharatpur. We reach Janakpur during the late afternoon. We visit several pilgrim sites in Janakpur like Janak Temple, Shree Ram Janaki Mandir, Shree Ram Mandir, Ram Janaki Biwaha Mandap, Rajdevi Mandir and the various artificial lakes like Ganga Sagar. We rest for the night in a hotel close to the Janaki Mandir.

Day8: Janakpur- Kathmandu(~3 hours,~234 kms)

 We have our breakfast and head towards the capital city of Kathmandu following the BP Koirala Highway. We pass through pristine valleys rich in agriculture and vegetation. We reach Kathmandu during the evening to end our time trip. You are accommodated in a hotel in Kathmandu.
